About SA
SA — Design House
Founded in 2010 by architects Alireza Emtiaz and Saqar Khakdan, SA is a design house working across three fields: Objects, Collectibles and Spaces. Its philosophy, drawn from nature and from the human form, leads to forms meant to be lived with as much as looked at.
Every piece is made by hand under the founders' direct supervision, using a stencil technique developed in-house. This is what allows each work to exist in a limited, numbered edition, or as a single piece.
Our approach joins the timeless patterns of nature with contemporary techniques. Through new materials and modern processes we develop forms that question convention: objects that are both pioneering and enduring.
Love Seat is a series of sculptures conceived for two people. Organic in form, each work occupies the threshold between sculpture and functional object. How many relationships can exist within a single form? The form remains the same. What is created anew, each time, is the relationship.
Founders

Alireza Emtiaz, born in Tehran in 1974, is an architect and sculptor. His work moves between architecture, sculpture, and the body, often exploring our relationship with space and the presence of another — a line of inquiry that, in Love Seat, becomes a study of distance, intimacy, and the dynamics between two people.

Saqar Khakdan, born in Shiraz in 1987, is a designer and artist. Her work grows from an ongoing search for new forms and new ways of expressing human relationships across architecture, design, and art — a pursuit that, in Love Seat, turns form into a means of exploring intimacy, tension, attachment, and the emotional boundaries between humans.
